Growing guide

  1. BedsMake raised, well-drained beds, work in well-rotted manure (and lime on acidic soils) and lay plastic mulch to keep weeds down and moisture in.
  2. SowingSow 1–2 seeds per hole, 1–2 cm deep, and thin to one strong plant.
  3. TrellisPut up a net or stake trellis before the vines start to run, and guide them onto it.
