Overview
Hoàng Hà is an F1 hybrid honeydew melon in Zinbioseed's vegetable seed range. As an F1 hybrid it grows vigorously and uniformly, giving an even, dependable crop.
Sweet, fragrant melons such as dưa lê are prized as fresh fruit and as gifts. They can be grown in the open on mulched beds, or on trellises in net houses for cleaner, higher-value fruit.
Key features
- Sweet, fragrant fruit
- Short crop cycle

Growing guide
- BedsMake raised, well-drained beds, work in well-rotted manure (and lime on acidic soils) and lay plastic mulch to keep weeds down and moisture in.
- SowingSoak the seed for 4–6 hours, then sow 1–2 seeds per hole about 2 cm deep, or raise seedlings in trays and transplant them at the first true leaf.
- PruningPinch out the main vine after 4–5 leaves and keep 2–3 strong side shoots: fruit sets best on the side shoots.
- PollinationEncourage bees, or hand-pollinate in the early morning if fruit set is poor.
- HarvestHarvest when the fruit turns its mature colour and smells sweet, picking in the cool of the morning.
